Our Story Begins Here

❊ About Us

Theatre for every child. Stories for emotional growth.

Tumble Dog was born from a bedtime story, a scruffy puppet, and a whole lot of heart. What began as a tale for one little boy has grown into something bigger; a theatre company that develops emotional literacy in young children. We are proud to serve the community of Suffolk.

Establishing emotional literacy in early childhood provides a pillar of mental health that enables self-esteem, confidence and inner strength.

We take a learn-see-do approach:

1) Our workshops teach the foundations of emotional literacy.

2) Our characters model these skills in our stories and shows.

3) Children try these skills for themselves.

But the magic doesn’t end there!

Our Shows incorporate multimedia, puppetry, composition, sensory integration and narration. This means our performances are innately inclusive and are therefore enjoyed by a brilliantly diverse audience.

Loved by Children, Trusted by Teachers.

Seriously! But don’t take our word for it, here are some things people have to say about us.

Tumble Dog’s approach aligns closely with our values and the needs of our pupils. The chance for students to engage in imaginative work that builds confidence, encourages emotional expression and supports creative thinking would be a valuable addition to our curriculum…

J. Gooch., Suffolk Teacher

As a Headteacher, I recognise the growing need for creative, accessible approaches to support children’s emotional well-being. With increasing pressure on both arts and mental health provision in schools, initiatives like Tumble Dog provide an important link. They bring the pillars of mental wellbeing into the classroom through storytelling, multimedia and puppetry, while also offering opportunities for students to showcase their work and collaborate with the wider community..

“My daughter now recites the book to me word for word every morning when she wakes up. As a family, we can’t wait to see the show!"
